Amazon has posted its holiday shipping deadlines online. Non-Prime members are going to have to pay for timely delivery after Dec. 16, but Prime members enjoy free shipping right up until Christmas Eve.

Kasten launches to simplify data management for container apps.
Kasten is a new startup that emerged from stealth today aiming to help companies better manage their data in an era of containerized applications.

While software containers are great at providing a portable, isolated, and lightweight execution environment for applications, they’re not as good at working natively with applications that need to maintain an internal state. Kasten’s software, K10, helps with this by tracking data on a per-container level and allowing customers to set up rules for how it should be managed.

K10 should help fix several of the key problems with managing data with containerized applications, including compliance monitoring, backup, and migration.

For example, customers using Kasten’s K10 software could save a record of a multi-container application, including all of the associated data, then migrate it to another environment managed by Kubernetes (an open source system for orchestrating multi-container applications) with a few clicks.

MyVR raises $6.1 million to grow app marketplace for Airbnb hosts and property managers.
MyVR today announced that it has raised $6.1 million to expand its multichannel property management platform. The company is focused on serving Airbnb hosts and property managers who handle up to roughly 20 properties. MyVR’s software places listings on popular sites like Booking.com, Airbnb, and Home Away. The new funds will be used to expand the management platform’s app and service ecosystem for property managers.

Today, the platform and its marketplace enable property managers to do things like sync activity between booking services and bring together software from companies like Stripe, MailChimp, and Quickbooks.

“In the past year, we’ve launched an app marketplace and services marketplace, and this is one of the big reasons for our funding. We want to ramp up these third-party integrations with third-party service providers,” MyVR CEO and cofounder Jonathan Murray told VentureBeat in a phone interview. In terms of focus, Murray said: “cleaners, maintenance, and service providers; home automation; and financial stuff are the big categories we’ll focus on first.”

The $6.1 million round was led by True Ventures, with participation from existing angel investors. Previous investors in MyVR include SV Angel, Hotwire president Clem Bason, and Chris Dixon (prior to his joining Andreessen Horowitz).

Drift launches third-party platform for sales and marketing bots.
Drift today launched the Drift Platform to give developers tools to make Drift bots for marketing and sales. Companies have been able to deploy their own templated Drift bots for some time now, but the Drift Platform gives developers and businesses using Drift the ability to make custom bots and integrations.

The Drift Platform launches the same day as the Drift App Directory. Similar to services like the Slack App Directory and Microsoft’s Bot Directory, the Drift App Directory will allow customers to find and discover bots made by third-party developers, enterprise software makers, or Drift customers.

Developers can show what to submit to the app directory, but Drift will continue to focus on the development marketing and sales verticals rather than general offerings for enterprise customers.

Unlike Slack or Microsoft’s bot offerings for chat apps like Microsoft Teams or Slack, Drift bots are most often used on apps and websites.
